The New York Jets face the Miami Dolphins (1-0) in an AFC East battle in Week 2 of the NFL.

Turnovers and mental mix-ups tormented the Jets and the new kid on the block quarterback Sam Darnold throughout the evening, the 21-year-old's 334-yard and one-touchdown day ruined by two interceptions. The Jets bobbled the ball multiple times on the evening too, turning it over twice.

Darnold and the Jets were poised to get on the board as the half expired, a 44-yard completion to Terrell Pryor. But Chris Herndon failed to score and he was short inches of the end ozone as the clock expired.

The Jets carried the momentum of that late first-half drive into the third quarter when Darnold directed a seven-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a 29-yard completion to Bilal Powell.

It looked like they were poised to to win this the game. However, Darnold was picked off for a second time on the following play in the back of the end zone by Xavien Howard.

New York would only be able to tack on a pair of field goals despite recovering another fumble near midfield on the subsequent drive following Darnold's second pick, cutting the deficit to eight with six minutes remaining in the game.

The effort fell short. The Jets suffered a 20-12 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
